When elegance has, as if the grace and harmony of balance weren’t enough, it verges on pure poetry, and such is the case of these twenty three oil paintings of female figures painted by Lluïsa Sallent.
LA VANGUARDIA 19th of Abril, 1980

Lluïsa Sallent is a painter who always strives for purity of line and volume in her work. We believe that her sculptures and drawings inspire memories of Egypt and Greece when one contemplates them.
BATIK  1980

Catalonian statuary, with great names in our century, to which noucentism returned to the greco-latin world, has added a name: Lluïsa Sallent.
EL NOTICIERO UNIVERSAL  3rd of June,  1982

As Joan Antoni Maragall said at its presentation, it is not often that a sculptor presents a first exhibition so representative and with such characteristics. He refers no less than to a work carried out over these last three years, without any prior reference. Until then Luisa Sallent didn’t know that she was a sculptor, but the drive that lead her to become one sprung from the roots of her blood and instinct, and was overwhelming. ...her classicism is replete with humanity and smooth, delicate warmth. It comes as no surprise that a sensibility like that of this artist manages to infuse these qualities so deeply into the coldness of the material.
LA VANGUARDIA  5th of June, 1982

Like a pageantry of technique and self-assuredness, Sallent’s figures are captivating…

…In her work there is authentic creation in which, starting from reality, she imposes her spirit, her personal breath and all her expressive and aesthetic intuition.
JOSEP MARESMA art critic, member of ICOM

Maybe surprise is what the visitor finds in a sensuality with no fault, in a cast nudity, in bodies with no erotism. This cleansing is proper to the true painture, as it was in sculpture, of Luisa Sallent's work, round in her anathomic volumes and, at the same time, with this calmed elegancy of greek goddess that, from the museums, exhibit their naked beauty.

… she knows that the human being is the key to all enigmas and that is why she desires to represent the human form with particular grace, in her figures.
PER LLUIRE    Palma de Mallorca November, 1994

Lluïsa Sallent’s work enjoys the gifts of maestry, good technique, arthistic quality and aesthetic beauty. With these elements it is easy to enjoy the contemplation of her work.
LA COMARCA D’OLOT    November, 1995

The miracle of sinless sensuality, of chaste nudity, of bodies bereft of eroticism may surprise the visitor. This purity is the essence of true painting, as it was in sculpture by the work of Luisa Sallent, rounded in their anatomical forms, and, at the same time, with that serene elegance of the Greek Goddesses who, from their places in museums, exhibit their unclothed beauty
